Meet your guide and driver in the lobby for a transfer to the Habsburg Family’s Summer Palace on the outskirts of the city. During the drive, your guide will give you a brief history of Europe’s longest reigning monarchy.
Once you arrive at Schönbrunn, your palace experience will start at the Court Bakery, in the cellar beneath the Café Residenz, where you will have reserved places to watch the expert patissiers preparing delicious Viennese apple strudel followed by sampling the piping hot strudel fresh from the oven.
Together with your private guide, you will visit some of the most interesting parts of the Palace including the Children’s wing where you will discover the kind of world the imperial children lived in: a time wheel will tell you the difference between a child of the imperial family and one from the middle classes. You can play with the toys from imperial times and learn the secret language of fans, lay the table for an imperial banquet, or the children can dress up in period costume.
You will learn lots of interesting facts such as the kind of food they used to eat in imperial times, or how old the palace is and whether it´s always been this big.
At the conclusion of your visit of Schönbrunn, you be dropped of back at your hotel
