DURATION: UP TO 8-HOURS

Chantilly is a marvelous site; the Montmorency Family, the Condé Family and finally the Duke of Aumale have made this town proud with the chateau they have maintained in succession over the years. The Domain of Chantilly includes the Castle with the Condé museum where you will start your jounrey. Here, the walls are full of French, Italian, English, and Flemish paintings. Then, you can enjoy a leisurely stroll around the vast park (7500ft²), designed by Le Nôtre. The Chinese-English Garden of the Hameau, adds to the classical perspectives of the Grand Canal with its waterfall and parterres à la française.

First, enjoy a visit to the Condé Museum, which boasts a worldwide popularity for the magnificence of its collections, its precious manuscripts, and sumptuous apartments. It is considered one of the oldest ones after the Louvre (1850).

Outside, be marveled by the vegetable garden for the Grande Condé. Stroll through the bamboo grove, the Persian garden, and a rabbit racetrack. Every day during the vacation season special presentations for children take place. Then you can stroll through the ‘Musée Vivant du Cheval,’ a museum housed in the most beautiful stables in the world. The Great Stables of the Prince of Condé are an architectural work of art. You can attend the daily demonstration of dressage and the equestrian shows under the dome.

Continuing on the tour, you will explore the Parc de la Faisanderie. This magical garden has been revived recently with several re-creations: the Prince’s’ kitchen garden, orchard, fantasy garden, a unique hen house with 20 different breeds and some ‘ornamental gazebo’ sheltering pigeons presented by ‘style’: curly, peacock, fantail, capuchin etc.

Pick-Up/Drop-Off: Your driver will pick you up from your Paris city-centre hotel. At the conclusion of the tour, the driver can return you to the hotel, or if you prefer, perhaps drop you off at a nearby restaurant for dinner. (If choosing the latter, taxis back to the hotel are to be paid for locally)
