The Château of Versailles, is considered to be one of the most beautiful achievements in French art and architecture. As an emblem of absolute power, this luxurious palace was home to the French kings Louis XIV, XV and XVI. Visit the Grand Apartments, the Royal Chapel, the Queen’s Apartment, and the Gallery of Battles.
Outside, explore the estate and discover the world of Marie Antoinette. You will explore the gardens laid out by André Le Nôtre and the Trianon, as well as the bucolic Queen's hamlet with a farm, windmill, and livestock.
Afterward, drive along the Valley of the Seine to Giverny, where Claude Monet lived. Walking through his estate, visitors can still feel the atmosphere that reigned at his home and marvel at the floral compositions and inspirations. The tour will take you through his house and studio, gardens, and over to the water garden to see the famous Japanese bridge itself.
Claude Monet, who founded the Impressionist school, lived in Giverny for 43 years. His house and his garden, the village of Giverny and its surroundings, were his subject matter.
Traveling down the historical Route Normandy-Vexin, you will follow the course of the Seine, majestic and tranquil. Enter the Cradle of Impressionism, “country of light and shadow,” with views of limestone hills, forests and grasslands.
