A Walk Through the Paris Hemingway Called Home

Stroll along the Left Bank of Paris for an appreciation of the 1920’s and 30’s the literary great called home. Sit at the same cafés and restaurants he frequented with companions F. Scott Fitzgerald, James Joyce, and Pablo Picasso. View the Paris of Hemingway’s memoir “A Moveable Feast” much of which has remained unchanged since his time here.
Your tour will take you to parts of St. Germain de Près and the Latin Quarter, the Luxembourg Gardens, 12 rue de l’Odeon, the original location of Shakespeare & Company where he borrowed books from owner Sylvia Beach’s collection, 27 rue de Fleurus, the apartment of Gertrude Stein, le Dôme Café, 113 rue Notre Dame des Champs and rue Cardinal Lemoine, where he lived with his first wife Hadley and their son, and La Closerie des Lilas, also a favorite haunt of Hemingway’s where he would sit for hours sipping a hot café crème writing short stories and working on “The Sun Also Rises”. See black and white photos of Hemingway and a brass plaque marking where he sat while listening to piano music played by Cole Porter. It can easily be said that Paris is the place where Ernest Hemingway developed his distinctive writing style still admired and enjoyed by many today.
Pick-up/Drop-off: Our Guide will pick you up from the lobby of your Paris City-Centre Hotel. Your tour will conclude somewhere in the city-centre where your guide may assist with instructions on returning to your hotel or recommend further sightseeing opportunities or dining options.
