Leipzig Excursion
A City of Music and Culture
DURATION: UP TO 8-HOURS
Visit one of the most diverse cities in all of Germany on this tour. Along with an English-speaking driver, you will explore all Leipzig has to offer. From Bach and Wagner to stunning architectural accomplishments, this is a not to miss opportunity.
After arriving, you will find that Leipzig has an array of destinations and sites to see. St. Thomas Church for instance is a great place to start your tour, as the great Johan Sebastian Bach worked there as the choir master and rests to this day within the church. You will discover that Leipzig is home to many historic figures and places, such as Auerbachs Keller restaurant, one of the region's oldest restaurants and made famous in Goethe's "Faust".
For more modern history, perhaps a trip to the St. Nicholas Church might interest you. Built in 1165, the church attained international fame as the site of the Monday Demonstrations during the 1980's. Just outside the city you may want to see the Opera House, Gewandhaus concert hall, or even the home of famed composer Felix Mendelssohn.
