On this private full-day excursion with one of our knowledgeable English-speaking driver-guides, discover the famed wines of the Chianti Region, in the Southern part of Tuscany.
Upon departing Florence, you will head South, passing through some of Tuscany's most scene landscapes, full of vineyards, rolling hills, and olive groves. You'll enter the region known as the Chianti, which, in 1716, became the world's first officially defined wine producing area. On this tour, you will have the opportunity to visit two note wineries, where you can taste the Chianti Classico, Super Tuscans, Vinsanto wines, as well as Olive Oil. Please note that the tastings are to be paid for locally.
You can enjoy lunch at either one of the wineries, or perhaps at a local trattoria. Your driver-guide is more than capable of making local suggestions. Perhaps sample some of the region specialty dishes, such as pasta with meat or mushroom sauce, or perhaps stewed meat. After your winery visits and lunch, your driver-guide will take you to visit some of the nearby charming hill towns such as Greve-in-Chianti, Montefioralle, Panzano, and Castellina (time and interests permitting), which will further enchance your discovery of the authentic Tuscan vibe!
At the conclusion of the excursion, your driver-guide will return you to Florence.
