Excursion to Murano & Burano
An Artisanal Island Excursion

With one of our expert local English-speaking guides, visit Venice's Northern Lagoon, exploring the islands of Murano and Burano.
Murano is known all over the world for its 700 year-old traditional glass blowing business, and boasts a huge variety of techniques and styles. From Mondays through Fridays you will be able to see the actual production. If you are there during the weekend (or in August, when the furnaces are switched off) please enjoy viewing an extensive demonstration of two basic techniques; blown glass and massive glass sculptures.
At the conclusion of your time in Murano, you will proceed to Burano. Considered by many to be the most attractive island in the Lagoon, Burano is known for its brightly colored houses, fishing boats, top quality lace production, and delicious cookies. On the island are still a number of women at work with needle and thread; you can stop to admire their skills.
This 6-hour tour includes:
- Private boat ride in the Northern Lagoon
- Stop at Murano to see glass blowing
- Stroll in Burano
- Visit to a lacemaking atelier
Pick-up/Drop-off: Our guide will pick you up from your Venice City-Centre Hotel; supplement may apply for pickup from hotels situated near Venice-Santa Lucia Rail Station or other outlying areas. At the conclusion of the excursion, you'll return back to Venice's main island via private water taxi.
